What is a doula?

• A doula is a trained companion, there to help you and your partner (should you have one) navigate all things pregnancy, labour, birth and the postpartum period. 

 

We've all seen the Hollywood movies and heard the stories. Birth has been projected as something to be feared instead of something to be cherished. I'm here to tell you that birth can be beautiful.​ Of course, I can't promise you that your birth will be sunshine and roses (spoiler alert: no one can!) I make it my job to ensure that you feel empowered, supported and seen throughout the entire process.

 

When using a doula you enter your birth space feeling educated and prepared for what is to come, with the knowledge that you will be both mentally and physically supported during your most vulnerable times. 

What does a doula package include?

• 2 prenatal appointments to educate and prepare for your birth experience

• Phone and text support throughout pregnancy

• Continuous support throughout labour, birth and the immediate postpartum period

• A postpartum visit to check in, assist where needed and talk through your experience
